Evony Age 2 Guide

Stars and star levels is something totally new in Evony Age 2. In Evony Age 2 you can upgrade the star level of your hero gear, and that way you make the gear more powerful. However, upgrading star levels is not that easy and can be quite frustrating.

First thing you need to know about star levels is that you need to use delicate gems or flawless gems in each upgrade, and you do the upgrade in your workshop. You can choose how many and which type of gem you want to use for the upgrade, and you will be told the success rate of your upgrade before you complete it. Archery is one of those technologies that help your army become stronger and more efficient when you are at war against opposing armies. The importance of archery is that it allows you archers to be more efficient and get more attacks into your opponent’s army, giving you an upper hand in battle.

So how does your empire benefit from upgrading archery? Well, your archers will gain a 5% increase in their range, allowing them to attack farther than normal. This is really important in how the outcome of battle will be, and in my opinion this technology is the most important one there is in Evony. It is one of the technologies you should try to get to level 10 as soon as possible. Just think about it, if you have longer range for your archers they will be able to fire one whole round of arrows into the enemy army without being shot back at, this is really a massive advantage. Using Gems is a new feature of Evony Age II and you use these gems to improve the attributes the gear and items give to your heroes. The gear itself you make in your workshop, while you use the forge to place gems on the gear you have already made, this is called Advanced Blacksmithing. Then you use the feasting hall to equip heroes with gear. Gems are not the same as stratagems or gemstones. Gems in Evony Age II come in 3 types, Rubies, Sapphires and Topazes and each of these come from level 1 to level 10 I believe, even though I’ve only seen level 1 to level 9 so far.

You can buy these gems in the Evony store, and you can also get them from attacks. You can also melt two gems together to make a higher level gem using Advanced Gems Smelting. If you want to buy the gems from the store you buy them in chests. There are 3 types of chests, the Wooden Chest, the Bronze Chest and the Royal Chest. Each chest offers you 1 or 2 gems of level 1-3 for a Wooden Chest, 4-6 for a Bronze Chest and 7-9 for a Royal Chest.  Read the rest of this entry »
