Senior Guidelines
Senior Guidelines is an Evony item that effectively reduces the construction and research time by 8 hours. Like the Master Guidelines, this item is only useful later on in the game when you are dealing with 8+ hour build times. You shouldn’t have any use for this item in the early stage of the game. The Senior Guidelines can be obtained by either completing quests, increasing your Promotion Title or buying from the Evony Store for 50 cents.
Walls
As the name implies, walls are to set your city’s boundaries and protection for your city. This will allow your army to withstand attacks from an enemy. A wall’s durability is tested when an enemy attacks your walls and can’t destroy it after 100 rounds. Since after 100 rounds units will die automatically and units which do not die survive and go home.
Walls can also be upgraded per level, at level 1 walls have their durability increased to 100,000 and provide a fortified Unit space amounting to 1000. Walls produce all kinds of fortified units to protect your city, as well. The higher the level of your wall is the more fortification units you can place on it. I suggest you focus mostly on building archer towers as they are the best fortification type out there right now.
Embassy
As the name implies, an embassy is where you maintain relations with other cities which you are allied with. It is here in the embassy where you can accept alliances and invite other players to join your alliance. At a level 1 embassy you can start having allies, you are only allowed to accept ally invites however. When you reach level 2 your are allowed to send invites to neighboring cities to become one of your allies.
An Embassy also serves as a place where injured allied troops can stay while they get into a better state of health, as you level your embassy it will also allow it to increase its capacity to host allied troops. Note that every time allied troops stay here food will be used up. Embassies are useful to have in all of your cities so that your alliance can send their troops there and help defend you.
Evony bots, city management scripts and cheats
I know there are lots of Evony bots, city management scripts and other types of tools out there for Evony. I’ve written about these cheats for Evony before in various articles on this website, but I’ve decided to stop doing so now. With Evony Age II coming out soon I believe it is much better to try to get rid of this bot problem. I believe Evony Age II looks really good, and I hope bots and city management scripts won’t be as much of a problem in this new version of Evony, as it has been in the old one. Many of these bots and script don’t even work anymore anyways, and to my knowledge there are no tools like these that work for Evony Age II. Read the rest of this entry »
Increase population with public grievance
It is harder to increase population in Evony with public grievance, but it is definitely possible. Both public grievance, tax rate and loyalty is related to how fast your population will grow. As you have probably noticed, the the lower your tax rate is the faster your population increase is. You can see this from the table posted below that your population increase per tick with 0% tax rate is 5%. This is the maximum possible population increase per tick that you can have. A tick happens every 6 minutes in Evony, then Evony will update loyalty, population and gold for each city you have. This happens at the same time for all cities on the server.
Machinery – instant fortification repair
The machinery technology in Evony increases the percentage of fortification units that are repaired instantly after a battle. It says in the description of the technology that every single upgrade enhance repairable rate of fortified units by 100%, it does not however say anything about what percentage of units is repaired if you don’t have this technology at all. 100% increase with machinery technology would tell you nothing if you don’t know which number to increase by 100%. Evony turbo startup guide with cottages
This startup guide is for new servers where resources are still very cheap in terms of gold. The first few weeks of a server food is only about 0.1 gold each and the other resources are at about 0.2 – 0.4. We want to take advantage of this by having a high gold income, and focus most of our resources on building cottages for the first few days. Later on you will remove some of them for barracks, but early on we don’t need that many barracks since we’ll only be building warriors and we don’t have enough resources to keep a bunch of barracks running all the time.
What I do on a new server is to first complete the quests to get the basic buildings you need in your city. You get as much resources in reward for completing the quests as it costs you to build the first few levels of every building, sometimes even more, so there is no reason not to do so right away. Spend some guidelines to speed things up if you want. You build one of each resources and then fill up the rest of your fields with mostly wood and a few of stone. Wood is the most important resource for you early since you will be building cottages. Read the rest of this entry »
