The quarry is where you produce stone for your empire in Evony Age 2, it is the same in Age 1. Especially early on a server production of stone is really important for growing your Evony empire quickly. The reason is that stone is the most important resource when it comes to building construction. Just look at the wall, you need a huge amount of stone to get this construction up to high levels.

Even though stone is really important early on a new Evony Age 2 server, prices for stone is usually starting to decrease in week 2 or 3. The reason for this is that stone is not very important at all when it comes to train troops, and that is what you will be spending most of your resources on when you get a little bit into the game. The Quarrying Tools are an item offered only through purchase from Evony which employs levers, pulleys, wheels and axes to the quarry. Using the Quarrying Tools, your stone production will see an increase of 25% for 7 days. Although realistically, the Quarrying Tools are only useful on day 1 when stone is selling for a hefty amount. Keep your focus on the Quarries as they can get you 15,000 stone per hour by day 1. This item has an Evony Price of 8 cents.

The Advanced Quarrying Tools are an item offered only through purchase from Evony which employs levers, pulleys, wheels and axes to the quarry. This item will increase production of stone by 25% for 7 days. The Advanced Quarrying Tools are only useful on day 1 when stone sells for a good amount. Make sure you focus on your Quarries as they can get you 15,000 stone per hour by day 1. This item has an Evony Price of 50 cents.

Part of your resources to build buildings for your city is stone. Masonry is a technology which increases you stone production by as much as 10% every time you upgrade this technology. You will also need Masonry to be able to attain level 1 mining technology.

To research level 1 masonry you only need several prerequisites like to have the lumbering technology learned and an academy building. But as you level masonry up from level 2 and onwards, each level now requires more prerequisites like if you wish to level masonry from level 1 to level 2 you need to have a level 2 academy building and a level 2 quarry.
