Evony Age 2 Guide

Many Evony Age 1 players have complained that there is no attack button in Evony Age 2. In Age 1 they were used to being able to both plunder other players cities for resources as well as conquering them and making them their own. In Evony Age 2 the game developers decided to get rid of the attack button and switch it out with the colonization button when you select other players cities.

Having no attack option has made Evony Age 2 a much easier place for new players, since you can keep your resources safe and there is no way for other players to steal your resources or capture your cities. Privateering is a technology where your attacking military forces are able to ransack and plunder resources from an enemy warehouse. This is a technology is a useful way for you to gain resources when you invade an enemy city. At higher tier levels, privateering will enable your army to plunder and steal resources at a higher amount from enemy warehouses.

To upgrade you privateering technology you go to your academy building. In order for you to upgrade this technology you will need to have built a level 10 academy, researched and leveled your informatics to level 5 and military science to level 8. You also need to pay a cost of 5,000 food, 2,000 iron and 10,000 gold. Along with a 1 hour research time, these prerequisites are require to level to level 1 privateering. As you upgrade this technology the prerequisites increase, and it is a very costly technology to research all the way to level 10.

This stratagem seems a bit more useful than the cast a brick to attract a gem, it does the exact opposite. Instead of showing that you have more resources than you actually do, it shows on the scout reports that you have less, only 10% to 20% of your actual resources. I can see this being very useful early on the server when there is a ton of plundering going on, instead of showing 3 million resources it shows only 300k -600k, and this may stop someone from attacking you who would do so otherwise.

Attacking other players for resources is a very good way to grow quickly at the start of a new server in Evony. Be careful not to attack someone with a larger army than you though, since loosing you whole army will really hurt you. In addition to not being able to pillage other players you will probably be pillaged a lot yourself and wake up every morning with no resources in any of your cities. Read the rest of this entry »
