Evony Age 2 Guide

The pikeman of Evony Age 2 is a troop geared towards offense and also at taking out enemy ponies, cavalry and cataphracts that is. Pikemen are good at taking out enemy cavalry having a long reach and high speed. Enemy cavalry are often in front so the pikemen can hit them hard taking them out without being stuck fighting the enemy’s rainbow. To win the battle you should have about 50% more pikemen than your enemy has cavalry, if your enemy uses cataphracts you should have about 3 times as many. The pikemen of Evony Age 2 are much cheaper and faster to train than cavalry and cataphracts though, so this is not a bad ratio at all.

The Senior Battalion is an Evony item which grants you 100-200 archers, 150-250 swordsmen, 200-250 scouts and 200-300 pikemen. Most people feel the swordsmen and pikesmen have little worth. The Senior Battalion is equivalent to about 300 archers. It should be noted that this item cannot be bought through the Evony Store. Senior Battalion can only be obtained by spinning the Wheel of Fortune.

Historical cities, or barbarian cities as they are also called, is a new feature of Evony Age 2. It is quite hard to conquer the historical cities as they have a ton of troops in them. Conquering historical cities is definitely possible however, and doing so will gain you huge advantages in the game, so in this guide I will show you how to conquer the first of these historical cities, the level 12 barbarian city.

First lets look at what kind of defense the level 12 historical city has. Not all level 12 cities will have the same type of troops but all will contain something like 280k warriors, 27k calvary, 40k pikemen, 17k archers and maxed fortifications. Yes, it’s possible to attack barbarian NPC villages without any losses at all. You get a lot of experience for your hero when you’re doing this as well as lots of resources. I’ve done this with villages up to level 5 so far, but I will attack higher once I get enough troops to do so. Read on to figure out how.

You can make more than 10 million gold a day in Evony using this strategy. Actually 10 million is just a cool number, the correct one is 950,000 gold an hour, most people don’t play 24/7 however. The way to do this is to raid NPC villages, and I will tell you how.

To do this I would recommend having a minimum of two villages, and one of them should be as close to a level 5 NPC village as possible. The level 5 NPC village will have 950,000 gold in it when full, it regenerates all that gold in one hour, so to get the max from it you should be within half an hour from it with transports.
