Ballistas

with 8 comments

Ballistas are the units you use to farm level 1 to level 5 NPCs with in Evony Age 2. In Evony Age 1 there was a period you could farm all the different types of NPCs without losses using ballistas, but these days you can only farm the first 5 NPC levels.  I suggest you go to the wiki to check out the exact numbers you need to farm the first 5 NPCs without any losses. It is related to your technology levels, but overall you shouldn’t think about farming NPCs with ballistas until your archery technology reaches at least level 6.

The ballista is a pretty slow troop type to build, and you will need a lot of high level barracks to build a large ballista army. It will probably take you a few weeks on a new Evony Age 2 server before you can start farming the NPCs efficiently with ballistas.

Transporters

without comments

The transporters of Evony Age 2, are just the same as they are in Age 1. They are the only choice when you want to carry a large number of resources from one city to another. Transporters are also the only choice when you want to attack level 10 NPCs or historic cities, if you want to be able to carry away all the resources you will find there that is. Transporters are quite slow though build however, so at the start of a new Evony Age 2 server you would probably use workers mostly the first few weeks.

NPC City level 10

with 28 comments

The level 10 NPC city is a very popular type of NPC city to farm. Many players also conquer these NPC cities, since they are filled up with level 10 buildings they are really useful after all. You don’t farm the level 10 NPC using ballistae, as you will have heavy losses doing so and ballistae are slow to rebuild. Instead most players usually use a rainbow archer formation. You can find out more about how to farm level 10 NPCs with small losses in this article.

On most Evony Age 1 servers you will find tons of these level 10 NPCs that top players have built around their cities. Some players farm up to a 100 level 10 NPCs every day to get food to support their massive armies. With Evony Age 2 I believe the level 10 NPC farming will continue, but it is not possible to build a ton of them around you like it was in Evony Age 1. It will be interesting to see how NPC farming will affect the game in the Age 2 version of Evony. Read the rest of this entry »

Evony Age 2 release

without comments

Evony Age 2 is now finally released, and it looks really cool! There are lots of new features to Evony Age 2, and I suggest you take a look at the Evony Age 2 wiki if you want to learn all about them. This week the first 4 servers were started up, and they are called NA1, NA2, NA3 and NA4.

There is also a brand new interface of the main Evony website where you have access to all the Evony servers. You click the big play button on the center of the screen under the new Evony Age 2 logo, and then you get to the server list where you can choose from all the Evony Age 1 and Age 2 servers. I just tried signing up on the NA4 server, and there is plenty of room for new players on that server, so there is room for everyone to start out with Evony Age 2 right now!  Read the rest of this entry »

Rally point of Evony Age II

with 3 comments

There has been quite a few useful changes to the rally point of Evony Age II. The first thing you’ll probably notice is that the rally point window can now be made transparent so that you can see the map while you’re in the rally point. It is also possible to preset troops from the rally point now, a feature I can see being really useful when farming NPCs for food or valleys for medals. You have 3 different preset troop numbers you can save in your rally point.

The third option I’ve noticed with the rally point is the fugitive camp. When you run out of food some of your troops will go here for a while, instead of dying right away. They don’t stay here forever, so make sure you retrieve them before they are permanently lost. Read the rest of this entry »

Biggest plunder ever in Evony

with 17 comments

Just before New Years what is believed to be the biggest plunder ever happened on the wn1 server in Evony. The loot of 1.2 billion resources were stolen in the first attack and carried home in 120,000 transporters! The attacker was TheShow on server wn1 and the defender, who lost more than 1.7 billion resources total in the main attack and one follow up, was BuRaRaZ. This got to really suck for BuRaRaZ who has probably spent weeks if not months farming NPCs and gathering up all these resources. You can see a copy of a battle report below in the article, click to make it larger. Read the rest of this entry »

Rainbow attack level 10 NPC city with almost no losses

with 48 comments

A Evony rainbow attack is layering your main attack troop, usually archers or cavalry, with other types of troops to reduce losses. In these attacks on a level 10 NPC barbarian city the player looses almost no troops at all cause of his layering. The troops used are archers, warriors, workers and transports, 100k troops total. It is very important that you have maximum technologies when trying this, and you also need a hero with 130 or more attack power. The higher attack power of your hero the lower losses you will have. You can also use penicillin and war horn to reduce losses even more. The numbers of different troops used in both of these attacks are listed below.
