Evony turbo startup guide with cottages
This startup guide is for new servers where resources are still very cheap in terms of gold. The first few weeks of a server food is only about 0.1 gold each and the other resources are at about 0.2 – 0.4. We want to take advantage of this by having a high gold income, and focus most of our resources on building cottages for the first few days. Later on you will remove some of them for barracks, but early on we don’t need that many barracks since we’ll only be building warriors and we don’t have enough resources to keep a bunch of barracks running all the time.
What I do on a new server is to first complete the quests to get the basic buildings you need in your city. You get as much resources in reward for completing the quests as it costs you to build the first few levels of every building, sometimes even more, so there is no reason not to do so right away. Spend some guidelines to speed things up if you want. You build one of each resources and then fill up the rest of your fields with mostly wood and a few of stone. Scouting in Evony
Getting intelligence before making attacks in Evony is really important so you don’t end up loosing battles and wasting troops attacking someone with no resources. NPCs in Evony don’t have any scouts of themselves, so you don’t have to worry about loosing your scouts in a battle when you try to scout them. The only problem scouting NPCs in Evony is that you need high enough informatics technology to get an accurate scout report. If your informatics level is too low, you won’t get any information at all from your scouting report. Read the rest of this entry »
Pillaging other players – early PvP
Attacking other players for resources is a very good way to grow quickly at the start of a new server in Evony. Be careful not to attack someone with a larger army than you though, since loosing you whole army will really hurt you. EvoMap – Evony map of all servers
EvoMap is a new tool for Evony that easily lets you find other players cities. This has been a problem in Evony, finding all the cities of a player or an alliance that you want to attack. With the Evony map you can search both for player names and alliances. You can also get a list of all the cities in the various states of the server and also all cities in a certain radius around a coordinate of your choice. Evony defense guide
Defending your cities is obviously very important in Evony. For defense you can use both a lot of scouts so they are not able to find out how many troops you have or just a lot of defense troops so they can’t manage to beat you anyways. In addition to your troops you need a lot of fortifications, I recommend archers towers, they are effective against almost anything the enemy can send at you.
I also recommend having gate closed usually, unless you’re able to have a huge defense army in town, or you are only and manage to figure out how large of an army your enemy sends against you. It’s true that more powerfull players will destroy your fortifications frequently, but they are pretty cheap to rebuild after all. If you keep rebuilding fortifications and don’t have much resources worth to plunder other players will proabably just leave you alone. Read the rest of this entry »
Guide to conquering high level villages from active players
If I’m going to conquer a city in Evony I want it to be a city worth keeping. For me that is a city with high level buildings and several high level barracks. New players with low prestige usually don’t have villages like that, so when I try to conquer cities it is usually cities from high prestige active players. Evony Starting Guide
When you start a new account on an Evony server you will have 7 days of beginner protection. You better use these days wisely, especially if you’re on a server that has already been running for a while.
