Evony Age 2 Guide

This Evony guide will be useful for both Evony Age 1 and Evony Age 2 players. The first 50 pages are filled with general strategies and tips that can be used on both type of servers. Today a lot of new articles about Evony Age 2 has been added to the Evony Age 2 wiki. Now there is information about all the building types of Evony Age 2, most of the troops types, all the stratagems, the technologies and most of the Evony Age 2 items. New articles are added to the wiki every day, and you can find the Evony Age 2 Wiki here.

I am also looking for someone to help out writing articles for the Wiki, if you’re interested in doing that you can leave a comment to this post and I will get back to you. Please do bookmark the Evony Age 2 Wiki and check back often, I hope to have most of the articles completed within a few weeks. If you are totally new to Evony Age 2, I suggest you start with the articles about the new Evony Age 2 features and then go on to the other articles.

This startup guide is for new servers where resources are still very cheap in terms of gold. The first few weeks of a server food is only about 0.1 gold each and the other resources are at about 0.2 – 0.4. We want to take advantage of this by having a high gold income, and focus most of our resources on building cottages for the first few days. Later on you will remove some of them for barracks, but early on we don’t need that many barracks since we’ll only be building warriors and we don’t have enough resources to keep a bunch of barracks running all the time.

What I do on a new server is to first complete the quests to get the basic buildings you need in your city. You get as much resources in reward for completing the quests as it costs you to build the first few levels of every building, sometimes even more, so there is no reason not to do so right away. Spend some guidelines to speed things up if you want. You build one of each resources and then fill up the rest of your fields with mostly wood and a few of stone.  Wood is the most important resource for you early since you will be building cottages. Getting intelligence before making attacks in Evony is really important so you don’t end up loosing battles and wasting troops attacking someone with no resources. NPCs in Evony don’t have any scouts of themselves, so you don’t have to worry about loosing your scouts in a battle when you try to scout them. The only problem scouting NPCs in Evony is that you need high enough informatics technology to get an accurate scout report. If your informatics level is too low, you won’t get any information at all from your scouting report. Read the rest of this entry »

Attacking other players for resources is a very good way to grow quickly at the start of a new server in Evony. Be careful not to attack someone with a larger army than you though, since loosing you whole army will really hurt you. In addition to not being able to pillage other players you will probably be pillaged a lot yourself and wake up every morning with no resources in any of your cities. Read the rest of this entry »

EvoMap is a new tool for Evony that easily lets you find other players cities. This has been a problem in Evony, finding all the cities of a player or an alliance that you want to attack. With the Evony map you can search both for player names and alliances. You can also get a list of all the cities in the various states of the server and also all cities in a certain radius around a coordinate of your choice. Right now more than 12 million cities are listed on 125 different servers. Read the rest of this entry »
