Evony Age 2 Guide

Stars and star levels is something totally new in Evony Age 2. In Evony Age 2 you can upgrade the star level of your hero gear, and that way you make the gear more powerful. However, upgrading star levels is not that easy and can be quite frustrating.

First thing you need to know about star levels is that you need to use delicate gems or flawless gems in each upgrade, and you do the upgrade in your workshop. You can choose how many and which type of gem you want to use for the upgrade, and you will be told the success rate of your upgrade before you complete it. In Evony Age 1 the workshop was a pretty useless building. The only thing you needed the workshop for was as a prerequisite for building walls and for researching metal casting. Metal casting is a prerequisite for defense mechanics.

Anyways, with Evony Age 2 the workshop has become a much more important building. Now you need the workshop to be able to make gear for your heroes. Having good gear for your heroes is really important, as most heroes are very weak without being equipped with decent gear. You need certain resources to be able to produce hero gear, and this changes depending on what level of gear you want to make. You can read more about gear making here.

With the introduction of Evony Age 2, the Forge is now a very important building. The reason is that you now need the forge to be able to place gems on the equipment that your heroes use. You use the gems to improve the attributes the gear give to your heroes. There are 3 types of gems in Evony Age 2 that you can place on your gear, Rubies, Sapphires and Topazes. Each of these gems comes from level 1 to level 10. You can read more about upgrading you gear in the forge here.

You also use the Forge to smelt to gems together to form one more powerful gem. You can read in detail about how the gem smelting process works here. In Age 1 the forge was pretty useless, the only thing you needed it for was as a prerequisite for building a workshop and researching military science.

The feasting hall is the building in Evony where you manage your heroes. For each level you upgrade your feasting hall you can hire one more hero. You recruit your heroes from the Inn, but once it is recruited you manage everything that has to do with the hero in the feasting hall. Things like checking the status of heroes, upgrade stats, give rewards and dismiss heroes are done here, and it is also here you have to persuade or release heroes you have capture.

With the introduction of Evony Age 2, the feasting hall got some new exciting features. You can now put gear on your heroes from the feasting hall interface. Each hero has 16 available slots he can use to place gear in, that is mount, shield, legs, weaponry, feet, 2 rings, 2 charms, belts, gauntlets, chest, back, shoulders, head and neck. You can read more about heroes and gear here.

There seems to be some new Hero Attributes in Evony Age II. That is hero leadership, hero speed and hero energy. Hero energy seems to be a certain number out of 100. Every time your hero marches he looses 4 of his energy points. These energy points will recover over time.

Speed and leadership however I’m not sure what are yet. Leadership can be over 100, and I heard of one player having a hero with 120 leadership. When it comes to speed I think it might be a bonus to how fast troops led by that hero would move, but I have not tested this out yet. Will update this articles as soon as I find out more.

In Evony Age II you can make your own gear for your heroes in the workshop. It is cool that the workshop building finally has some use. You need a certain level of the workshop to make certain gear. The gear you make come in 10 different levels.

To be able to create gear for your heroes you need to have enough resources. Each type of gear requires a specific combination of resources. The resources you need to produce gear are not the same as those you produce in your villages. At the moment the only way to get these resources seem to be to buy them in the Evony store.
