Evony Strategy Guide

Controlling your gates and deciding when to open your gate to fight is an important aspect of Evony. Some form of attacks work very well on your city when your gates are open, and some work very well when your gates are closed. All this assumes that you have filled up your wall with fortifications of course, but most cities will be filled up with that within a week after they are built. I suggest mostly archer towers and some traps and abatis as well.

If your city is well defended you usually want to have your gates open at all times. If you have your gates closed other players can easily run in with 100k archers and destroy all your archers towers and traps. Then they can send in some cavalry to take out your abatis and leave your city with no fortifications left at all. They will also most likely have taken a huge chunk of your honor in the process. Getting intelligence before making attacks in Evony is really important so you don’t end up loosing battles and wasting troops attacking someone with no resources. NPCs in Evony don’t have any scouts of themselves, so you don’t have to worry about loosing your scouts in a battle when you try to scout them. The only problem scouting NPCs in Evony is that you need high enough informatics technology to get an accurate scout report. If your informatics level is too low, you won’t get any information at all from your scouting report. Read the rest of this entry »

Defending your cities is obviously very important in Evony. For defense you can use both a lot of scouts so they are not able to find out how many troops you have or just a lot of defense troops so they can’t manage to beat you anyways. In addition to your troops you need a lot of fortifications, I recommend archers towers, they are effective against almost anything the enemy can send at you.

I also recommend having gate closed usually, unless you’re able to have a huge defense army in town, or you are only and manage to figure out how large of an army your enemy sends against you. It’s true that more powerfull players will destroy your fortifications frequently, but they are pretty cheap to rebuild after all. If you keep rebuilding fortifications and don’t have much resources worth to plunder other players will proabably just leave you alone. Read the rest of this entry »

Prestige is kind of the rank in Evony. You have both prestige, population, title, cities and honor, but prestige is the number top right on your screen, and many seems to value prestige the highest. Personally I think honor shows a lot more who is the better and more dangerous player, but it’s still pretty cool to have high prestige and be high up there in the rankings. Here are a few tips on how to build prestige quickly.
