Evony Age 2 Guide

The farm of Evony Age 2 is the building you need to be able to produce food. Food is a very important resource in Evony as you will need to feed your army every hour. In addition to being important in the feeding of troops, food is also important when it comes to some construction types and troop training.

In the beginning on a new server you don’t really need to build many farms, as food will be the least valuable resource and you won’t have that many troops to feed at this point. Later on the server you might want to capture level 10 NPCs, as these are filled up with lots of level 10 farms. Generally however, food will remain pretty cheap on all servers as it is easy to get food from plundering NPCs. Ballistas are the units you use to farm level 1 to level 5 NPCs with in Evony Age 2. In Evony Age 1 there was a period you could farm all the different types of NPCs without losses using ballistas, but these days you can only farm the first 5 NPC levels.  I suggest you go to the wiki to check out the exact numbers you need to farm the first 5 NPCs without any losses. It is related to your technology levels, but overall you shouldn’t think about farming NPCs with ballistas until your archery technology reaches at least level 6.

The ballista is a pretty slow troop type to build, and you will need a lot of high level barracks to build a large ballista army. It will probably take you a few weeks on a new Evony Age 2 server before you can start farming the NPCs efficiently with ballistas.

Level 5 NPC cities are really popular to farm for most players in Evony. On Evony Age 1 servers you will find almost the whole map filled up with level 5 NPC cities that players have made. The reason is that this is now the highest level NPC city you can successfully farm with 0 losses using ballistae.

I think the level 5 NPC city will still be a popular target to farm in Evony Age 2, but now it is not possible to make tons of them around your cities as it was before. If you find a lot of level 5 NPCs around your cities, consider yourself lucky and build a lot of ballistae early on to farm these for resources.

The level 4 NPC is a very popular NPC type to farm, the only one more popular would be the NPC level 5. Farming the level 4 you will get quite a few resources with each attack, while you still can do so with way less ballistae compared to the level 5 NPC. People still prefer that level 5 NPCs usually, but farming the level 4 NPC is very common too.

The level 2 NPC is a little stronger than the level 1 NPC, but not much. You don’t get many more resources from plundering the level 2 NPC compared to the level 1 NPC either, so most players don’t both much with the level 2 NPCs at all. Early on the server with low resource prices it can be profitable, but most players just stick with the level 1 NPCs.

The level 1 NPC is the weakest type of NPC village there is, and it’s the type of NPC most players start with at first. There is not a lot of resources in this NPC, but compared to the number of troops there are for defence in the city, the resources you get from plundering it is not bad.

Especially early on a server plundering level 1 NPCs can be a good idea. The reason is that prices for resources are very low early on a server, and the gold you get from plundering the level 1 NPC can help you a lot on expanding quickly. Read the rest of this entry »

Logistics is the ability to gain information for the flow of goods in and out of your city, tracking resources in your city from point to point. Logistics is a very useful technology to upgrade since it let you transport resources around your empire more efficiently.

As you upgrade your army will benefit from it also when it comes to attacks and plundering other neighbors, as it will increase your army’s load capacity by 10%. Especially when it comes to farming NPCs, this is great, as you’ll need way less transports for each attack if you have logistics leveled up.
