Evony Age 2 Guide

Many Evony Age 1 players have complained that there is no attack button in Evony Age 2. In Age 1 they were used to being able to both plunder other players cities for resources as well as conquering them and making them their own. In Evony Age 2 the game developers decided to get rid of the attack button and switch it out with the colonization button when you select other players cities.

Having no attack option has made Evony Age 2 a much easier place for new players, since you can keep your resources safe and there is no way for other players to steal your resources or capture your cities. The delicate gem is an item you use in Evony Age 2 to increase the star level of various items. Gems come in two types in Evony Age 2, delicate gems and flawless gems. The delicate gem is the worst of the two types, meaning the success chance of upgrading an item’s star level using a delicate gem is lower than if you use a flawless gem. You upgrade an items star level in the workshop. The advantage with the delicate gem is that it is very cheap at only 1 Evony cent per gem. The flawless gem is twice as expensive at 2 cent per gem.

The War Horn is an item in Evony which when applied, will increase the strength of your attacking troops by 20%. The duration of this item is 24 hours. This item can be stacked with other ‘Horn’ effects, but note that the strength percentages remain the same, but it’s actually the time that stacks. There is much confusion with some players when it comes to using the War Horn.You can apply this items while troops are marching. This item is available for purchase for an Evony Price of 10 cents.

The Excalibur is an item for sale through Evony that will increase the attack of your hero by 25% when used. They recently changed the duration of this item from 24 hours to 7 days. This 25% attack increase can be devastating on a high level hero who already has a high attack rating. This is a scalable item. The Excalibur has an Evony Price of 40 cents.

Military tradition is a technology that lets your army fight better in combat by dealing more damage. This technology will allow you army to deal more damage when engaging in war against invading armies, or when you are conquering cities. With this upgrade just like other upgrades you will have to have prerequisites every time you seek to better the technology. You can find more details about this technology in the table below. There are some minor changes when it comes to the layout of Evony Age II compared to Evony I. It seems they have focused on making different features easier to access and more smooth. One is the production tab under your city overview. Here you can now change the production level of all your resources instead of doing one at a time like before. They have also made some changes to the amulets to make it quicker and easier to use, and it is also easier to enter and leave truce mode now with just one button.

In the statistics tab there are also some changes, you can now see a list of the first players and alliances to reach certain prestige levels. This is like a Hall of Fame for Evony Age II which shows the top 100 for each of these levels. The last layout change that has been mentioned, is the change in attack reports, you can now see the scout reports in a separate tab. All these changes improves the enjoyment of the game and the ease of playing.

Using Gems is a new feature of Evony Age II and you use these gems to improve the attributes the gear and items give to your heroes. The gear itself you make in your workshop, while you use the forge to place gems on the gear you have already made, this is called Advanced Blacksmithing. Then you use the feasting hall to equip heroes with gear. Gems are not the same as stratagems or gemstones. Gems in Evony Age II come in 3 types, Rubies, Sapphires and Topazes and each of these come from level 1 to level 10 I believe, even though I’ve only seen level 1 to level 9 so far.

You can buy these gems in the Evony store, and you can also get them from attacks. You can also melt two gems together to make a higher level gem using Advanced Gems Smelting. If you want to buy the gems from the store you buy them in chests. There are 3 types of chests, the Wooden Chest, the Bronze Chest and the Royal Chest. Each chest offers you 1 or 2 gems of level 1-3 for a Wooden Chest, 4-6 for a Bronze Chest and 7-9 for a Royal Chest.  Read the rest of this entry »
