Evony Age 2 Guide

The farm of Evony Age 2 is the building you need to be able to produce food. Food is a very important resource in Evony as you will need to feed your army every hour. In addition to being important in the feeding of troops, food is also important when it comes to some construction types and troop training.

In the beginning on a new server you don’t really need to build many farms, as food will be the least valuable resource and you won’t have that many troops to feed at this point. Later on the server you might want to capture level 10 NPCs, as these are filled up with lots of level 10 farms. Generally however, food will remain pretty cheap on all servers as it is easy to get food from plundering NPCs. The warrior is the cheapest and quickest troop type to build in Evony Age 2, and I expect this to be a very popular troop type in Age 2 as it is in Age 1. Warriors are often called the suicide troop as they are extremely quick to train, and because of that it is a popular troop type to mass produce and use for suicide attacks.

Warriors are often used to get rid of enemy fortifications in a suicide attack before you send your real army in there. Often players also kill their warriors on other players to get rid of their honor points, honor points were really bad in Age 1 cause of the healing % being lower then, I think it’s the same in Evony Age 2. You also use warriors in your rainbow attacks for layering.

The scout is a very useful unit in Evony Age 2, and you want to have several of these in each of your cities all the time. The scouts are pretty weak when it comes to attack and defense, but their main purpose is to do scouting missions after all. The scouts also defend you against other players scouting your cities. You only need level 2 barracks to build scouts, and in my opinion getting a few 100 scouts is the first thing you should do starting up on a new Evony Age 2 server. Read the rest of this entry »

Archers are by far the most popular troop type of Evony Age 2, and it was the same in Age 1. The reason is simply that it is considered the best troop there is. Archers will perform better than pretty much any other troop combination your enemy can send at you. Archers are great both when it comes to PvP and PvE. People have been farming NPCs with archers for a long time, and no other troop performs as good as archers here. When you want to conquer these new historic cities of Evony Age 2, archers are also the way to go.

Both for defense and offense archers are really good, and I suggest you focus mostly on archers when it comes to the basic defense of each of your cities. You need level 4 barracks to build archers, so the first thing you should focus on when you build a new city is to get all the barracks to level 4.

Today there were quite a few changes in how the Facebook applications work together with Evony Age 2. Many people have complained that Facebook had too much influence over gameplay in Evony Age 2. You could get massive armies extremely quickly if you had a lot of Facebook friends playing Evony, and this ruined the game for some players.

Dawnseeker says in a post today that they wanted Facebook to be a fun addition to Evony, not a major component of gameplay. Because of that they have reduced how large the rewards from Facebook are, and also how many gifts you can send other players through Facebook every day. A new feature with Evony Age 2 is that you can link your Evony account with your Facebook account. Linking your Evony account to Facebook has many advantages, and I think it’s almost a must if you want to be successful in Evony Age 2. The obvious thing it does is to make it easier to invite your friends on Facebook to play Evony Age 2 with you, and the application also makes sure that your friends start up on the same server and close to the same area as you do. This gives you a chance to easily help your friends get started with Evony quickly.

Another huge advantage with linking to your Facebook account is the gifts and resources you get from it. If you get lots of your friends to join Evony through Facebook you will get tons of cool rewards. People have built up massive armies early on with the help of Facebook integration. Evony Age 2 is now finally released, and it looks really cool! There are lots of new features to Evony Age 2, and I suggest you take a look at the Evony Age 2 wiki if you want to learn all about them. This week the first 4 servers were started up, and they are called NA1, NA2, NA3 and NA4.

There is also a brand new interface of the main Evony website where you have access to all the Evony servers. You click the big play button on the center of the screen under the new Evony Age 2 logo, and then you get to the server list where you can choose from all the Evony Age 1 and Age 2 servers. I just tried signing up on the NA4 server, and there is plenty of room for new players on that server, so there is room for everyone to start out with Evony Age 2 right now!  Read the rest of this entry »
