How do I gain honor points in Evony?
Honor in Evony is pretty easy to get, and also pretty easy to lose quickly. The more honor you have the easier it is to lose it. You can even lose honor when you’re winning your battles. Here I’ll give a few tips on honor in Evony, how to gain honor points and stop losing them.
You gain honor points by killing the troops or fortifications of other players, killing NPC troops will not give you any honor at all, but the NPCs might give you prestige. Anyways, the more enemy troops you kill the more honor you get. However, when you get your own troops killed in battle you lose honor, so you have to both win the battle and lose less troops than your enemy to gain honor in the battle. More expensive troops are worth more when it comes to honor.
How much honor you gain also seem to depend on the other players honor and prestige as well as your own. It seems you can gain a lot more honor from a player that already has a lot. Attacking players with 0 honor will still give you some honor points, but not as much as attacking a player with high honor ranking would do.
You also gain honor in scout missions if you happen to kill enemy scouts. This can actually be a good way to gain some easy honor points if you happen to have a lot of scouts. Another easy way to gain honor is to kill enemy fortifications with ballistas. Loosing no troops while killing lots of enemy archer towers will give you quite a lot of honor points, even from weaker players. Feel free to leave comments or questions.

Look at the promotion quest. You need so many of various medals + gold (and maybe others depending on how high your title gets).

Do you get honor every time you kill enemy troops? cuz i attacked someone and killed all their troops and non of mine, yet i gained no honor

Auctually, the more honor you have, the wounded % for your casualties will decrease.. so you loose alot more troops. BUT im noticing, the more honor you have the troops seems to do alot more damage. So I think a balance is good. However, if you have slow troop production and you cant keep up the losses, maybe less honor is better for you.

It isn’t useless, it is a balancing mechanism. It encourages players to pick on other players that are approximately their own size or larger. It makes the game better for everyone.

The more honor you have, the less troops you heal after they are killed in battle. Its set up that way so that good players (in theory, those with high honor) who just constantly beat up weaker players (in theory, lower honor) wont come out completely ahead (i.e. they lose more troops and heal just 10% instead of, say, 50%).

The rason you always lose 90% of troops atacking a valley or NPC is because they have no honour!

You dont lose 90% of your troups… 90% LIVE (if you won of course)
Other factors include your hero’s attack, Military Tradition, etc…

I find honor in this game tragic. Game is supposed to be diplomacy/honor and warfare. Attacking a neutral player should bring a serious penalty. Honor is declaration of war then no holds barred, but stealing neutral valleys is a game for jungle snipers, this is not a shoot in the back strategy game. Huge honor/prestige games for attacking a player not on line. Then they design an item (for cash) to allow you to attack without declaration. Shameful design.

I have found that the only thing honor effects is the % of troops that I can heal after a battle with a real player. The lower my honor the higher the percentage I can heal. NPCs always give a 10% heal rate for a successful attack. I keep mine as low as possible by scoutbombing high lvl players. You kill off a lot of your own scouts , your honor goes down, your heal rate goes up. If you want to attack some one and his honor is high, he has been in a lot of battles and defends well.

I think what they mean is of the troops that ‘die’ in the battle, 90 percent actually die, while the other 10 percent are wounded and can be healed. Not that 90 percent of your total troops die. Think it was just worded weird.

The guide still seems confusing:
As I understand it, honor affects healing only – not damage dealt or received. Those seem to be dependent on the attack attributes of the heroes in the battle. The healed percentage goes up or down from 10% depending on the comparison of amounts of honor between combatants. It probably varies 2% for each increment(not determined yet) of difference, with a maximum of 50% healed and a minimum of 0%. Percent healed is the fraction of the “Casualty” number in the “Army” tab of the “Reports” button. Healing is done in the “Medic Camp” of the Rally Point; manually doing the healing is much cheaper than having it done automatically. [by the way, that's why healing never goes higher than 10% with valleys and NPC cities - you can never have less honor than the 0 they have.]

ok lol honor means just that..to have honor is to fight with honor, teh reason you get 50% wounded in medic camp is because those troops fought without honor and as soon as tehy got wounded they fled..this means only half your army fought effetivly and the other half cried for medics. now when you have alot of honor instead your troops stay and fight until death hence why you do more dmg , because instead of 50% of honorless fighters fleeing teh battle wounded they only 10% fled. also if you have less honor and have to heal 50-65% of wounded every wave you send not only are half your army fleeing battle but you have to spend large ammounts of gold to heal them. now instead if you have high honor yes you have less wounded but 90% of your army fought till death with honor meanin they fight more effectivly and kill more enenmys..also saves you gold, downside is if you lose you lose then you lose 90%. also because they all fight untill death the number of rounds fought increases which is why you may notice higher treasure drop rates because more rounds fought,

Lilbear, That’s life… If you don’t want to be attacked when you are not online, then set your status to truce. This game is played throughout the world, I live in Germany, if I attack someone in California who is 9 hours behind me, chances are they aren’t online. If they have the right fortification they will be able to hold off until they are back online, or their alliance should be checking reports to see if they need reinforcements. In the end, it’s just a game.

Honor only determines the healing rate of your troops.
If your honor is higher then the person your attacking your percentage of the amount of troops you can heal will drop.
Though if their honor is higher then your rate will increase to heal more troops.
