How do I appoint a Mayor?
Appointing a mayor in Evony is pretty basic stuff, but there are still quite a few new players joining the game. Evony is one of the largest MMO strategy browser games out there after all. Anyways, to appoint a mayor you first have to build an Inn and then a Feasting Hall. You need to recruit at least one hero from your Inn, since you need a hero to have a mayor. For each level of your Feating Hall you can recruit one extra hero. All a higher Inn does is giving you more heroes to chose from, and also higher level heroes to chose from.
Anyways, to make a hero a mayor you just click on your feasting hall and then at the “appoint mayor” button. You click the same button if you want to change your mayor to a different hero or if you want to not have a mayor at all. Usually you want to have a mayor with high politics, as that will increase your building speed and resources production. Whenever you want to train troops you change to a hero with high attack, as this lower training time. Change back to politics after you put your troops in training. Whenever you start a research you change to a intelligence hero as this decreases research time.

does it work to change the hero to high intelligence, then start a research, and immediately after that change back to a politics hero… is the researchtime shorter that way?

Yes it works, also whe you create troops, change your hero with high attack an production is shorter, you can immediately change your hero to high politics

Who should be mayor when you are being attacked? Your highest Attack hero?

Try to recruit the best heroes from your inn. Look for attributes of around 60 base level. Meaning a level 1 would have around 60 in an attribute. A level 10 hero would have around 70. They come, you just have to look for them!

I hire and fire hundreds of heroes from the level one innuntill i find lelel 1 hero with 69+ att. all it takes is gold but better to get a good hero early than waste time switching later. no need to upgrade the inn for higher heroes keep at level one . feast hall 9 and hire and fire till u gettim. i got one level1 hero with attack 72. and another with attack and politics both 69
