Cavalry attacks with layering
Cavalry can take out massive amounts of archers with the right layering, so cavalry or ponies as they are also often called are really useful troops in Evony these days. The cavalry attacks are used in PvP, as there are no PvE situations where you will meet 100k or more archers. When using cavalry to take on huge armies you need to use some form of layering, if not your ponies will hardly do any damage at all, you can see that in the combat report below.

In this battle the ponies fight with the abatis, traps and foot troops while the 200k archers shoot at them. You can see they didn’t even mange to get through the defenders rainbow defense. It’s very important to make sure you have a rainbow formation of your own when attacking with cavalry, scouts are good for that as you can see from this very impressive combat report below.

Here in this battle 99k cavalry manages to kill over half a million archers, as well as lots of other troops as well! Only 10 scouts are used for layering to completely change the outcome of the battle. 10 scouts is a little risky, I’d use 500 myself, but you can clearly see from the report how important it is to bring in scouts. The reason is that the scouts will draw the attention of all the other troops being faster than the cavalry making it possible for the cavalry to reach the archers without being shot at too much. So the moral of the story is, ponies are awesome together with scouts.

there is a mistake in ur judgement. in the first report, the defender has traps and abatis and bcz of them, cavaleries would be killed without killing much. However,in the 2nd report ,the defender has no traps and abatis and bcz of that cavaleries can easily wipe them out.if there were abatis and traps in the 2nd report,it was just same as first one.

That’s right, well, better be careful with sending in cavalry when the defender has traps and abatis, still I believe layering is important.

What alireza is true, why do u put two totally different war reports for cavs and scouts no longer work as a shield for cavs

Another observation:
1st attack was hero lvl 90 vs lvl 77
2nd attack was hero lvl 123 vs lvl 72
However, layering does work

There are, however, over twice as many archers (and most other troops) in the 2nd attack. Which more than compensates for the discrepancies noted above.

has nothing to do with the scouts, its because the first reports have traps and abatis

although traps and abatis do incredibly more damage to Cavalries, 92 traps and 1000 abatis won’t save over 500k archers. Layer does work, maybe not as exaggerated as the attacks above.

1 Abatis will destroy a cav attack. These 2 posts couldnt be more unrelated.
