Defensive trebuchets and rollinglogs
Defensive trebuchets and rollinglogs, often called DTs and RLs, are the two most expensive fortifications there are in Evony. They also take up a lot of space on your wall and take a long time to build, so the question is, are they really worth it? The defensive trebuchet used to be called rockfall before. It’s pretty much the same thing apart from that it now will target enemy siege weapons. They do deal quite a lot of damage in this role, but from experimenting a bit with them it seems to me it’s not worth giving away the wall spaces to defensive trebuchets instead of archer towers. Generally I have 100-200 defensive trebuchets just for layering purposes. I like to have some of each fortification there is.
When it comes to rolling logs I find them even worse than the defensive trebuchets. They do deal quite a bit of damage to foot troops, especially warriors, but warriors are cheap to rebuild so who cares. They take up way too much space on the wall to be worth it.

No at a one shot they definately aren’t worth the investment. It actually makes me angry I invested time in this game when i see something totally ignorant on the part of the designers in relatoin to this. A Trebchet was the epidemy of siege artillery prior to gunpowder weapons. They had the greatest range and payload delivery for smashing castle walls, or shooting back at attacking pieces. The fact is, a defensive trebuchet would be erected in the castle yard or on a large tower and would be reusable for several battles. An offensive one was usually built on the spot, as were siege towers. Whoever designed this has it backwards.

It does make a little sense to me, I mean really, if you do throw a large rock at somebody; guess what you don’t have that rock anymore.
Perhaps a better way to implement this is to have it automatically reload?

Actually, a defensive trebuchet is the machine that THROWS the rock, not the rock itself. After throwing the rock, the machine doesn’t just dissapear into thin air!
