How to Join the Evony Age 2 Beta

with 2 comments

This is just a short guide on how to join the Evony Age 2 Beta. Everyone can join the Evony Age 2 Beta as long as they are active enough. Every 24 hours inactive players are deleted from the Evony Age 2 Beta server, I know this as my Beta account was deleted once cause of this reason. This means that when you get started with the Evony Age 2 Beta test you have to log in every day to make sure your account won’t be deleted.

When joining the beta server you log in with a login and password you use already on any of the other servers, only chose one login as it is not allowed to have two accounts on the beta server. Do not try to register a new account on the beta server, that will not work, just type in your login information from another server even if you have never played the Evony Age 2 beta before.

If you get the message “We’re sorry, but we’ve reached the 10,000 active logins quota for Evony: Age II live beta today. Please try again in 24 hours time.”, it means the beta server is full right now. You have to wait till they delete some players, which they do every 24 hours, so just try again tomorrow. How do I appoint a Mayor?

with 5 comments

Appointing a mayor in Evony is pretty basic stuff, but there are still  quite a few new players joining the game. Evony is one of the largest MMO strategy browser games out there after all. Anyways, to appoint a mayor you first have to build an Inn and then a Feasting Hall. You need to recruit at least one hero from your Inn, since you need a hero to have a mayor. For each level of your Feating Hall you can recruit one extra hero. All a higher Inn does is giving you more heroes to chose from, and also higher level heroes to chose from. How do I gain honor points in Evony?

with 36 comments

Honor in Evony is pretty easy to get, and also pretty easy to lose quickly. The more honor you have the easier it is to lose it. You can even lose honor when you’re winning your battles. Here I’ll give a few tips on honor in Evony, how to gain honor points and stop losing them.

You gain honor points by killing the troops or fortifications of other players, killing NPC troops will not give you any honor at all, but the NPCs might give you prestige. Anyways, the more enemy troops you kill the more honor you get. However, when you get your own troops killed in battle you lose honor, so you have to both win the battle and lose less troops than your enemy to gain honor in the battle. More expensive troops are worth more when it comes to honor. Read the rest of this entry »

What’s wrong with exercise in Evony?

with 10 comments

There is nothing wrong with exercise in Evony, I kinda like it actually. It gives you a good idea of how battle works if you understand how to use it. The exercise does not take technology and hero bonus into account when calculating outcomes of battle, so you have to think about that yourself, and don’t blame the exercise when you loose your battle. What tax rate is the best?

with 11 comments

The best tax rate when you’re not online and playing the game is 50%. Putting tax rate at 50% the population will be stable at 50% of maximum, and they will each pay 50% tax. The stable population number is your loyalty times your max population, and loyalty will be stable at 100% minus your tax rate. Read the rest of this entry »

How do I build a new city?

with 58 comments

Building a new city in Evony is actually quite easy. First you need to have a high enough title, to build your second village you need to be a Knight. You get to that title by following the promotion quests, and you need the items in your beginner package. You find your package under the package symbol top left on your screen.
