Evony: Age II features

without comments

There are lots of new cool features in Evony Age II Beta! It is hard to get on to the Evony II Beta server, as there is only room for 10,000 players. Inactives are deleted every 24 hours however, so keep trying every day until you get in. We have gathered a lot of information about Age II here, click the links for more details.

The Evony Age II Beta link can be found here, you log in with the username and password you use on your normal server. If you are getting a Blue Screen when you log in, check out this article.

Evony alliance positions

with 9 comments

There are five different positions in an Evony alliance. All members in an alliance start out as a standard member, they can’t do anything special in the alliance apart from quitting the alliance. If they quit they will loose 10% of their prestige, this goes for any type of alliance member.

The next rank in the alliance is the officer. They have the permission to accept new members to an alliance, but they can not promote any members to higher positions. They can also send out alliance invitations. There can be a total of 10 officers in an alliance, the total number of any kind of member in an Evony alliance is 100. Read the rest of this entry »

Beacon tower

with 6 comments

The beacon tower is quite an important building in browser game Evony. The beacon tower will warn you on incoming attacks on your city, and the higher the level of your beacon tower is, the more information you will get about the incoming attack. I advice you to have a beacon tower in each of your cities and get them to level 9 as quickly as possible. If you’re hardly ever attacked this isn’t very important, but most players are attacked now and then, and then it is a huge advantage to get as much information you can about the incoming army. Increase population with public grievance

without comments

It is harder to increase population in Evony with public grievance, but it is definitely possible. Both public grievance, tax rate and loyalty is related to how fast your population will grow. As you have probably noticed, the the lower your tax rate is the faster your population increase is. You can see this from the table posted below that your population increase per tick with 0% tax rate is 5%. This is the maximum possible population increase per tick that you can have. A tick happens every 6 minutes in Evony, then Evony will update loyalty, population and gold for each city you have. This happens at the same time for all cities on the server.

Evony turbo startup guide with cottages

with 4 comments

This startup guide is for new servers where resources are still very cheap in terms of gold. The first few weeks of a server food is only about 0.1 gold each and the other resources are at about 0.2 – 0.4. We want to take advantage of this by having a high gold income, and focus most of our resources on building cottages for the first few days. Later on you will remove some of them for barracks, but early on we don’t need that many barracks since we’ll only be building warriors and we don’t have enough resources to keep a bunch of barracks running all the time.

What I do on a new server is to first complete the quests to get the basic buildings you need in your city. You get as much resources in reward for completing the quests as it costs you to build the first few levels of every building, sometimes even more, so there is no reason not to do so right away. Spend some guidelines to speed things up if you want. You build one of each resources and then fill up the rest of your fields with mostly wood and a few of stone.  Wood is the most important resource for you early since you will be building cottages. Evony valleys – a short guide

with 28 comments

All the terrain spaces around your cities are called valleys in Evony, actually the only things on the map that are not valleys are player cities and NPC barbarian cities. They come in seven different types, grassland, desert, hill, swamp, lake, forest and flat. The flat is the only type of valley that you can build a new city on, to do this you need to first attack it with enough troops to win the battle and conquer it. Then you click the “build city” button to found your new city. Read the rest of this entry »

Scouting in Evony

without comments

Getting intelligence before making attacks in Evony is really important so you don’t end up loosing battles and wasting troops attacking someone with no resources. NPCs in Evony don’t have any scouts of themselves, so you don’t have to worry about loosing your scouts in a battle when you try to scout them. The only problem scouting NPCs in Evony is that you need high enough informatics technology to get an accurate scout report. If your informatics level is too low, you won’t get any information at all from your scouting report. Read the rest of this entry »
