Evony Strategy Guide

Cataphracts, also called phracts, are the most deadly of your horseback units, doing both more damage and having more life than the cavalry. Cataphracts are quite a bit slower than cavalry though, but still fast enough to reach enemy archers and do massive damage to them.  As with the cavlary you need to layer your cataphract attacks correctly. Since they are slower than cavalry you can layer cataphracts with both cavalry and scouts. It can also be a good idea to take out enemy layers with other troops in small suicide attacks before sending in the cataphracts, the phracts are really expensive and timely to rebuild after all. Cavalry can take out massive amounts of archers with the right layering, so cavalry or ponies as they are also often called are really useful troops in Evony these days. The cavalry attacks are used in PvP, as there are no PvE situations where you will meet 100k or more archers. When using cavalry to take on huge armies you need to use some form of layering, if not your ponies will hardly do any damage at all, you can see that in the combat report below. In browser game Evony you can only attack with 100,000 troops total at any given time, that is if you have a level 10 rally point. Sometimes being able to increase this number of troops can be very useful, later in game armies get huge after all. The War ensign is the item you can use to increase the number of troops you can send in one attack by 25%. You just click the item to use it, then you will see that you can send 125,000 as the new total number of troops from your rally point. The item costs 30 cents, and you will also frequently get it in the wheel of fortune.

The medal boxes in Evony comes in three types, the junior medal box, the medium medal box and the senior medal box. These medal boxes can be really useful to buy if you want to gain ranks and build more villages quickly in this game.

The junior medal box costs only 80 cents and contains the low level medals, 2-4 rose medals, 2-4 cross medals and 2-4 lion medals. The medium medal box contains 2-4 of each of the three medium level medals, 6-12 total, and it costs 140 cents. The senior medal box contains the three high level medals, 2-4 freedom medals, 2-4 justice medals and 2-4 nation medals. These high level medals are very hard to get so that explains the high price of 240 cents.

The holy water item in Evony is very useful, and it’s also very cheap at only 20 cents. This is the item you use to make the best heroes you can in the Evony browser game. Using a holy water you can reset 10 of the hero’s ability points, this is good since you can then reassign any points the hero has spent in other attributes than their main one. The Evony city teleporter comes in two types, the normal version and the advanced city teleporter. The advanced city teleporter costs 90 cents and allows you to teleport your city wherever you want on the map, you can actually choose the exact coordinates you want to teleport to as well as which map name.
